There is no voice like yours.
For me, music is not about singing on key or nailing a perfect vibrato. It’s about giving myself permission to feel, to get loud, and to share my irreplaceable voice. There is no voice like mine and there is no voice like yours. Creative expression is the window to my soul and how I taught myself to take up space. Whatever your stage is, I encourage you to claim it.

Music is the thread that connects the many parts of my life.
By releasing sound, I express my grittiest and most unapologetic self. When I first began to sing, I closed my eyes. When I sang alone, my voice was huge. But in the presence of an audience, my voice was small and meek. It sounded almost like an apology. As I worked with vocal coach Steven Memel, he supported me in opening up my voice, which opened up my heart. Sometimes, I would cry when I raised the volume of my voice. Singing with my whole body and soul required a bravery I had never cultivated in my everyday life. To be authentic, to be real, and to be loud required a level of vulnerability that sometimes felt unbearable. But little by little, I learned that my voice is my superpower and that honestly expressing stories and emotions was the key to my emotional freedom.
